Preventive Medicine

At Metro Family Physicians Medical Group, we are delighted to provide you with comprehensive preventive medical services. A complete physical includes a physical examination, discussion of risk factors for cardiovascular disease and cancer, with focus on a healthy lifestyle that includes diet and exercise. It also includes review of any recent tests and recommendations of needed screening tests and/or immunizations.

Very often, your physician, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner may recognize abnormal test results, discuss management of chronic medical conditions, and/or you may choose to discuss ongoing acute and/or chronic health issues at today’s visit. We actually encourage this, as it is our customary practice to attempt to address all of your health concerns within the time allotted. Because these additional services rendered are beyond a standard physical, an additional co-pay will be applied to the visit. Thus, it is our office policy to collect a co-pay for this visit. Occasionally, no additional services are rendered. If nothing additional is found and there are no lab abnormalities, we will refund your co-pay. We know that your time is valuable and we encourage you to discuss all important medical issues with your provider in the 30 minutes allotted for your yearly physical.
